Summary:  In this talk, MA President Ems Lord will explore the ways in which mathematicians make positive contributions towards our communities. Focusing on disease dynamics, this highly interactive session will address the mathematics behind the project which inspired the recent BBC2 series Contagion! Ems is based at the University of Cambridge where she is a research fellow and leads the award-winning NRICH mathematics outreach project.

Annual Problem Drive

Summary:  The Problem Drive consists of five rounds (each of 10-15 minutes duration) with three problems to solve in each round (so they are not working with the same team in each round).  At the end, there are prizes for participants with the highest scores.
