Paul Glaister CBE

Amongst those in the King’s first new year’s honours list is Professor Paul Glaister, awarded a CBE – Commander of the Order of the British Empire - for his services to education.

Paul is Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Reading. He is no doubt an inspiration to students and colleagues alike. Take a look at Paul's impressive CV of what clearly is a lifetime love of mathematics: https://www.paulglaister.org/

Paul has been a friend, member and supporter of the MA for many years. For the Mathematical Association’s 150th Anniversary Celebration in 2021 'A Magnificent Twelve’ articles were chosen for the Anniversary Collection from across 127 years of the Mathematical Gazette, referred to as the MAs ‘jewel in the crown’.

Paul said “I feel very honoured and proud to be chosen as one of those ‘Magnificent Twelve’ for my article ‘Alice’s adventures in inverse tan land – mathematical argument, language and proof’”

From everyone at the MA, we extend our congratulations to Paul and wish him the very best.

What a fantastic start to 2023!
