Murder Mystery
This is a puzzle sent in by a SYMS member Annabel Whibley.
Miss Marple was counting up how many murders she had successfully solved. There had been shootings, stranglings and several murders by other means. Altogether she had solved 37 murders.
Miss Marple realized that she had solved twice as many stranglings as shootings. Being very mathematically minded, she subtracted half the number of murders by other means from the number of stranglings and the answer was 6.
Using the above information can YOU deduce how many of the murders solved by Miss Marple were (a) shootings, (b) stranglings, (c) murders by other means?
