Society of Young Mathematicians

Membership of SYMS

Full membership is open to all young mathematicians and runs from 1st September to the following 31st August. Members receive all 3 issues of the journals, whatever time of year they join. Membership is £9.99 per year (£13.99 if outside the UK in Europe, £17.99 for airmail outside Europe).

Every term members receive the SYMS Newsletter – SymmetryPlus, which contains short articles, news, things to do, calculator hints, book reviews, games, puzzles and competitions. Members also receive termly copies of the journal Mathematical Pie. Again, Mathematical Pie contains interesting maths problems, puzzles and articles. SYMS encourages and supports mathematical activities for young mathematicians of all ages. Adults are very welcome to join SYMS.

SYMS members will receive Symmetry Plus and Mathematical Pie delivered direct to their homes.

The SYMS website is at www.syms.org.uk

Text Box: NOW for SYMS members
SYMS members can now access three fortnightly problems (Primary, Junior and Senior) on the SYMS website (www.syms.org.uk), try to answer them and print out a certificate if correct. They can also put their ideas about the problems on the SYMS discussion pages on the same site.
Now is a good time to join SYMS. For 9.99 pounds per year members receive three issues of the two journals AND have access to the SYMS website. Download an Application Form now!
