Equals: realising potential in mathematics for all is a magazine
for those working to ensure that all pupils benefit from mathematics.
The SEN code of practice, the revised National Curriculum and the
National Numeracy Strategy are now being implemented across the country.
Classroom teachers need the best support to develop good practice
in line with these initiatives. Equals provides such support
through the exchange of ideas.
Equals contains
- updates on issues affecting practice,
- descriptions of teachers' experiences,
- reviews of books, packs and equipment,
- practical ideas for the classroom,
- materials to photocopy.
- summaries of recent research
Equals is produced by teachers and curriculum/SEN specialists
dedicated to opening up mathematics to low attainers. It is published
by the Mathematical Association and backed by SENJIT (the Special
Educational Needs Joint Initiative Training unit at the University
of London Institute of Education).
Equals offers a valuable resouce for mathematics and SEN
at a low price. The annual subscription rates are: UK: £15, overseas
(surface mail): £16.40, overseas (air mail): £19.
