Council invited Paul Andrews to be the MA President for the year 2011 - 2012 and is delighted to hear that he has accepted. Paul will join Council as President Designate after the 2010 AGM.
Before becoming a teacher educator at the Manchester Metropolitan University in 1990, Paul Andrews taught mathematics for thirteen years in several comprehensive schools in Telford, Shropshire. Throughout his career he has been committed to improving equality of opportunity in mathematics education through his work in initial teacher training, professional conference presentations and writing, commissioned in-service, and research. For the last fifteen years Paul has been researching how mathematics is taught in other European countries. He is now a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
