SATs attacked

SATs exams for 11 year olds should be scrapped because they reduce maths lessons to memorisation of facts rather than understanding and applying mathematical concepts, according to the Advisory Committee on Mathematics Education http://www.acme-uk.org/ as reported in the Telegraph.
