Past President, Dr Tony Gardiner, Receives Excellence Award

American university, Texas A&M, has awarded its Excellence in Mathematics Education Award for 2016 to Dr Tony Gardiner. Throughout his career, Tony has campaigned for a more demanding educational experience for able youngsters, particularly through problem solving activities, and his involvement with the organization of national mathematical challenges is probably without parallel. His service to The Mathematical Association includes a year as President in the late 1990s.
