Who are we and what do we do?

We're a completely free Award and we provide the opportunity to increase young people's awareness of the breadth of opportunities open to them within the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The award is in two parts:

  • A letter of application to be written by the student to apply for the post of 'Leader for STEM' or 'STEM Reporter' in their school. The post is a one academic year appointment.
  • To complete the award students then have the opportunity to interview professionals who work in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. This can be completed individually or as part of a small team. There are no limits on the number of interviews any one applicant can undertake, although the minimum is one. Be inspired!

Special Awards

All our Special Awards have a specific focus and fabulous prizes attached! With the chance for your students to win cash prizes, book tokens, solar powered media players, classroom resources for your school and much more.

Each interview can be submitted into up to two Special Awards. Why not apply to them all by conducting many interviews.
