Using dynamic geometry for KS3 mathematics:

Cabri

Below are 7 zip files, each containing a word doc and all necessary cabri files to complete 7 useful tutorials to help you using the Cabri software.
*You will, of course need Cabri installed on your computer to get started.

All these tutorials are also available in GSP (Geometer's Sketchpad) format here

Descriptin of contents:	Zip file download:
A generic introduction to the software (both Cabri and GSP) and the materials. Sources of free trial versions and details of where to buy (using elcs) and further support are given. GSP version	CAB_01_inset_ks3.zip
A teach yourself `How to get started' with Cabri running through the basic facilities of the software. Download both the word file and the Cabri folder. GSP version	CAB_02_inset_ks3.zip
This section focuses on using Cabri to support Geometrical Reasoning in KS3; Shape Space and Measures. You will meet and use some pre-prepared Cabri files to accompany pp 178-201 of the Supplement of examples: Years 7, 8 and 9 from the Framework for teaching mathematics . As far as is sensible, the files are the dynamic versions of the static images from the pages of the Framework. You may just use them exactly as they appear, or you may prefer to personalise them in preparation for a particular lesson; guidance is given. GSP version	CAB_03_inset_ks3.zip
The focus for this section is Transformations, with pre-prepared files and ideas to accompany pp 202-217 of the Supplement of examples: Years 7, 8 and 9 from the Framework for teaching mathematics . The focus for this section is Co-ordinates, Construction and Loci, with pre-prepared files and ideas to accompany pp 218-227 of the Supplement of examples: Years 7, 8 and 9 from the Framework for teaching mathematics .
