The
Ove Arup Foundation
The Foundation
was endowed by the Arup Group with an overall
mission, encapsulated in the formal wording of
the Trust Deed, for
"the advancement of education
directed towards the promotion, furtherance and
dissemination of knowledge of matters associated
with the built environment ".
In support of this mission, The
Ove Arup Foundation has generously granted a sum
to enable school teachers to attend the joint
MA-ATM-AMET-NANAMIC 2008 conference.

A new version of
the
booklist of mathematical reading for sixth
formers has just been published by the Post-16
Subcommittee of Teaching Committee.

Gazette on JSTOR
The
Mathematical Gazette is now available on JSTOR
the Scholarly Journal Archive. Issues currently
available are from the very first one in 1894
to the end of 2000.

DfES funded In-School Support for embedding ICT
in KS3/4 mathematics
The
MA and ATM have secured (limited) funding for
a pilot in each of the North East, West Midlands,
East Midlands and London regions in which support,
in the form of in school CPD focussed on improving
the effective use of ICT within mathematics, is
offered at zero cost to the school*. For further
detail see
here.
*
Costs of reproducing handouts etc (agreed between
the school and the provider) will be born by the
school.
