Most people use Cryptography and Coding Theory every day when telephoning, emailing and using the Web. Prime numbers are crucial for Cryptography, the mathematics of secret messages. Much of Coding Theory, the mathematics of correct messages, relies on arithmetic modulo 2. The fundamentals of both topics will be discussed.
